Vow’s Legal & Regulatory team is comprised of lawyers: Andrew Janis & Veronica Volfneuk, Regulatory Affairs Manager: Nick Connell, and Regulatory Safety Scientist: Naya McCartney.
In June 2025, Vow became the first and only company to secure regulatory approval for cell-cultured meat in Australia. Because of its novelty, the process was unusually complex. It included a lengthy technical review by Food Standards Australia and New Zealand, significant amendments to the Food Code, two public comment periods, approval by a group of ministers across ANZ, and then an audit by the NSW Food Authority.
With this approval, Vow stands as the only company in the world with cell-cultured products consistently on the menu at dozens of restaurants. As a result, Australians are some of the first consumers globally to have ready access to these new foods. Vow's leadership in this space will provide other innovative companies with regulatory clarity and pave the way for further approvals in this emerging industry.
